Google is the largest source of traffic in the world since 80% of internet users go through this search engine. So impressing the big G will definitely take your site places; getting on the front page of this major search engine can be done if you focus on a few factors.

Focusing on a few things is the way to get to the top of the SERPs and impressing the search engine giant, which is something you certainly want to do.

When trying to rank a site in Google, having an older domain is important. Older sites are seen as being more trustworthy and to have better content which is why domain age is factored in by Google when determining rank. Google will more easily boost a site to the top of the SERPs if the domain is older and already has a good reputation. Of course, it's not the only factor that you need to keep in mind, but in order to increase your overall chances, you can do this too.

One thing many people don't know is that Google pays a lot of attention to grammar and good English in the content of a site. You will actually get some brownie points from Google if you have well-written content on your site. Google considers relevancy and quality to be essential and that is why the way in which your content is written is important. Sadly, many good websites never make it to the top because their grammar is atrocious, even if the information is relevant and interesting. It is critical that you ensure your content is grammatically correct and your spelling is up to scratch before publishing it.

In fact, you should get another person to go through and proofread it, to ensure you haven't missed anything. Only the best sites get to the top of the SERPs because many people think this matter is unimportant and ignore it.

Google is more likely to rank your site at the top if you focus on a few simple issues. So go ahead, start applying what you've learned here to see long term results from your efforts.
